Service Description

Your body has a system called the lymphatic system that helps keep you healthy and safe from harmful things. It works by keeping the fluid in your body balanced and protects you against infections. Lymph fluid can leak from capillaries into the tissues and if your lymphatic system doesn’t work very well or is blocked, it can result in extra fluid within your tissues. Part of this system are the lymph nodes, which act like filters to to help remove harmful waste from your body. They are found in different parts of your body like your neck, armpits, abdomen, and groin area. Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is different from regular massage and it can help with a condition called lymphoedema, which causes swelling in different parts of the body. This can be especially problematic following certain types of surgery. MLD was first developed and used by Dr Emil Vodder and his wife Estrid in Paris in 1936. The lymphatic drainage techniques stimulate the lymph vessels under your skin to help reroute stagnant lymphatic fluid. This can be especially helpful if you have swelling in your face, neck, arms, legs, chest, or genital region.
